    Love your artwork! Your bedroom tapestry is lovely and so appropriate. I am an artist and appreciate art of all kinds. I love the picture you film in front of! I really want to try this. However, my trauma is weather related (hurricane) and every year when hurricane season rolls around, I am stressed about the weather, which I feel I have NO control over. We just experienced hurricane Beryl and I was, and still am, a mental mess! Things are not “normal”. Would you advise me waiting until after hurricane season to begin this writing exercise? Thanks so much for your videos and sharing your expertise and most importantly, your feelings!!

    • @HAPPYSTUFFANDFLUFF
      @HAPPYSTUFFANDFLUFF 3 дня назад

      Oh Tracy - I cannot imagine how difficult this must be for you. I would do the exercise now and then repeat it when hurricane season is over. I don't know how much you can prepare for such weather events and I assume you do that already. Of course, this exercise cannot stop the event but it can help you to deal with it. Once you have done the full exercise and go back to look over what you have written - try to be objective and pick out those parts which are 'stinking thinking' parts where you might be catastrophising (which is surely understandable in this case) question your thoughts - are they true? What is the evidence? Emotions such as fear are there to help and alert us to danger (just be sure that you are accurate about what you are fearful of.) Once you have established that do all you can practically. I refer to eebie jeebie journaling in the video - if your thoughts are keeping you awake at night keep a pen and paper by your bed and then 'spew' out your thoughts - tell yourself you will deal with them in the morning and leave paper. Tracy, it seems you have dealt with this before and you will deal with it again. Don't underestimate how strong and capable you are. You've got this. Keep me informed and good luck with it.

    I found this an interesting watch. I agree wholeheartedly that we should all 'get off our sofas' and go out and vote. We owe so much to the brave suffragettes who fought so hard for the rights of women! In Britain, we vote for our local MP, not our Prime Minister. We do not have a 'Presidential' system. The party with the greatest number of seats (MPs) forms the government. The leader of that party becomes Prime Minister. I thought I should clarify for the benefit of your American followers.😊 Sadly, England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 lost to Spain 🇪🇸 in the European football final! Like you, Christine, I was surprised to find it such an emotional watch! (PS - are the interpretations to your blog new? I find them incredibly irritating!)

    If the cyst is in the top of the hand near the wrist, using a heavy book to bang it does work. A friend had one and her doctor said she could try it. It took a lot to convince me to hit my friend with the book. I didn't hit hard enough the first time so had to do it again. Mind you I'm a small woman so do be careful if you try this. However, the good news is that it worked. That was about 8 years ago and it has not returned. Note: It was not immediately noticeable that it was going to work.

    I've experienced the first 2 examples and still do from my sister and brother. They just can't be happy for me. I'm done with it, and I see them to a bare minimum now. I tried once to explain to them why, and they just don't see it. 'I'm overreacting'. You've nailed them big time. My spychologist told me they were 'toxic' for me and to see them ONLY if I have to. Thank you for this video ❤

However, you are quite right when it happens regularly, you get to a point where enough is enough and you just stop sharing news at all. You have explained the way you feel and that's really all you can do. Your thanks for the video are very much appreciated and thanks for taking the time to comment.

    For those who have a bump on the back of the wrist, you may try the table edge method. First close the hand into a tight fist, bend the wrist to bulge the bump out, and quickly hit the bump against the table's edge several times until the bump is flatten or is no longer there. It is like doing kung-fu against the table's edge, but do not do it too hard. Good luck and I hope it will work for you.

    Do not all parents make mistakes? Who is perfect? Why do kids so much need an apology?? Do kids ever apologise for all their heinous behaviour? Oh sure that us acceptable? What a fun video, Christine! It was all over the board and I enjoyed every segment! My parents used to sprout seeds in the early 70s and used the sprouts in all kinds of foods. I haven't thought about that for quite a while and it brought back happy memories of jars of sprouts sitting on the kitchen window sill. And how fortunate for you to have been able to spend a few nights in a castle! I'd LOVE to see inside a castle and since I've become such a huge fan of Downton Abbey, my interest in castles has increased. I can't wait for the third Downton movie! Lucky you to have been gifted the manuka honey! Honey has so many healing and healthy properties! I'm afraid I have no recommendations for a Netflix/Amazon series. I don't watch much television. Wowza. Well, Im just in the beginning phases of empty nesting and its definitely been very challenging, emotionally. I am sure many adjustments will need to be made along way. But, as a mother of two boys, one heading into his 3rd year of University this fall and one going into his first year this fall, I SURE HOPE that by the time either one of them are in the next phase after University (total independence and then marriage)I HOPE that we have all or most of the bumps and adjustments ironed out by then so that my future daughter-in- law doesnt feel so frustrated by me that she feels the need to call me a "needy douchebag" in the comment section of a RUclips video like the woman did in the comment at the bottom of the comment section here felt the need to do. YIKES! I don't doubt her frustration, but, Lordy, I would hate to think that I'd be SO annoying to either of my potential future daughters in law that they would say something like that about ME. I hope my sons and I and their significant others have a healthy and happy relationship and that I'm never or rarely ever overstepping healthy boundaries.

      @HAPPYSTUFFANDFLUFF Месяц назад

      Hi Jody! Given the content of your comment I am certain all will be well for you and your future family! I am so pleased that you are managing to negotiate 'empty nest' - challenging, as you say. I am sorry but I did have to laugh at the term, 'needy douchebag'. I think I am exactly that most of the time 😃Seriously, As with empty nest my advice where possible is always open and honest communication. You can't expect people to know how you are feeling if you don't explain it to them - maybe just not all day every day lol. All of these 'adulting' phases can be difficult (as all change can be) but they also bring amazing joy and wonder. Self awareness and awareness of the emotions of others is key and and you seem to have that in abundance. So I would say be aware of the possibilities but look forward to the joy and happiness coming your way. Thank you for stopping by and for taking the time to comment.

    I’m not sure if I’m going to survive this. I’m an adult child of Narcissistic covert abuse by both my parents and I developed mental illness at age 10 with no interventions or therapy. I was so low functioning I got placed in special Ed for nearly 11 years and my teachers knew I didn’t belong there but they had their hands tied and all they could do was support me in the best way that they could. My first experience with true and genuine and pure Love was when I had my son. His father bailed out on me early on in my pregnancy and had no meaningful involvement with our son since birth. Long periods he would not even call or use his visitation. The first ten years were as magical as they could’ve possibly could’ve been until he experienced a major trauma on one of his fathers visitations while he was left with the older son of the girlfriend and my sons entire world unraveled and he ended up having a mental health crisis that needed immediate evaluation and treatment but the father withheld consent and it took over 6 months for me to build enough case to obtain full legal custody and another 5 months until my son was stabilized. From that point forward all my energy and efforts revolved around advocating for my son and fighting the school district against their proposal for a very restrictive placement at age 11. My son couldn’t understand all that was happening and what I was trying to do to help him and also avoid getting a knock on our door by CPS. Meanwhile my narcissistic mother was undermine and sabotaging all mine and my private legal advocates efforts to help my son, over time my son came to believe I was the problem and my mom continue to drive a wedge between us and she modeled how to treat me, with total disregard, disrespect, and she refused to be a grandmother instead she competed with me on who was going to be the mother/parent figure all the while I was doing all the heavy lifting and she was doing NOTHING but trying to destroy my sons perceptions of me. Over time it worked. Now he’s 16 1/2 and treats me in the same exact manner as my mother and it became so painful that my mental illness began to resurface and now I’m trying not to go under again. Living without him and knowing that my mother won this warfare and she is reveling in her vindictive self validation she has no concern whatsoever for me and if she really loved her grandson she never would’ve done this because not having me in his life he will be left with no support system or advocate as he attempts to make his first moves into a neurotypical world while she has denied his autism since he was 10 yrs of age. I’m living in fear for him now.

    I've had one on my finger for around 10 years now and doctors said they won't remove it because it will grow back. It doesn't hurt unless I hit my finger on something, even lightly! OUCH! I just started putting castor oil on it last night after reading up about the benefits. Really hopeful!!

      Hello @is8454 Try massaging your finger immediately after bathing or every now and then soak your hand in warm water first. This is a recommendation from a viewer for whom it worked. Consistency is key. Good luck and thank you for taking the time to comment.

    I'm lucky enough to be retired. I don't subscribe to the idea of 'routine'! I thrive on spontaneity! To maintain fitness and a joy of outdoors, I recommend adopting a dog! Walks become an essential element of every day. I find routine brings boredom and often results in fear of the unexpected. My recommendation would be to embrace new opportunities and seek out new experiences and to resist 'routine' at all costs!

    I thought I had a close relationship with my daughter and now it has fallen apart. I was never given the reason for the fallout but I have a few ideas as to what went wrong. Willing to do the work and admit my part in this. Thank you for your beautiful video.
